Remove the noticable signs of aging

As skin ages, there is loss of dermal collagen and subcutaneous fat. This results in characteristic contour changes in the facial profile and unwanted wrinkles.

There are numerous fillers available, which are categorized by ideal usage. Fillers are commonly used to treat the following conditions:

1. Superficial fine lines
2. Facial folds and wrinkles
3. Facial volume loss
4. Lip augmentation

Superficial lines or static lines are those that appear “etched” into the skin.  They require thin, natural looking fillers. As the need for volume replacement increases, fillers are placed deeper and can be thicker and more viscous. Medium thickness fillers, like Juvederm Ultra Plus, are used for deep wrinkles, such as the naso-labial folds. Naso-labial folds run from the corner of nose to the corner of the mouth. Medium depth fillers are also very effective for folds that run downward from the corners of the mouth to the jaw; otherwise referred to as “marionette” lines. These thicker fillers are longer lasting than the thin, superficial fillers.  Generally, fillers can last between 1-2 years, and results are seen immediately.

What Do Facial Fillers Fix?

Facial fillers replace lost volume which causes wrinkles and sagging skin. The skin thins by loss of collagen and elastin fibers. In youth, the skin remains plump from a natural sugar called hyaluronic acid that attracts and binds to water. Fillers are clear, injectable gels that are injected to fill in wrinkles and facial depressions that are associated with aging. With the numerous choices available for facial fillers, we can choose the best one for your specific concern and desired look.

The thickest fillers, for example Juvederm Voluma, are more for volume enhancement for the face that needs to be “plumped up.” As the face ages, the cheeks get hollow and “droopy,” which can also lead to deeper folds around the mouth and nose. Patients may need lifting as well as volume. In many patients who consider surgery, facelifts can often be delayed or avoided by filling the cheeks and restoring lost volume. This is known as the “Liquid Facelift.” Combine these fillers with Botox, and you will get a “Soft Lift.”
Lip augmentation is ideally obtained with soft, natural fillers to add subtle volume and structure.

There are many types of injectable fillers available today. The most popular fillers, such as Juvederm, are made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a clear gel that already exists in the human body. It attracts water, keeping your skin hydrated and youthful. Hyaluronic Acid is a non-animal-based sugar molecule, which makes it extremely safe to inject.

In addition to replacing lost volume and filling deep folds, facial fillers can also be used to reduce under eye circles and to plump lips. Lip augmentation is extremely popular with clients of all ages, and is the number one area injected at our clinic.

Since there are a number of facial fillers available for fine lines, deep wrinkles, and volume loss, all may be used in the same patient. We often inject more than one type of filler to achieve a natural and refreshed look based on your desired outcome. This is where a consult with an experienced injector is vital.

FAQs Answers to frequently asked questions about the procedure

WHAT IS JUVEDERM?

Facial fillers, including Juvederm, are safe, long lasting natural gel fillers that are injected into the skin to restore volume, plump lips, and fill deep folds and wrinkles. Made from pure Hyaluronic Acid (HA), dermal fillers last six months to two years – or longer with occasional touch ups! Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is an effective anti-aging powerhouse for your skin. HA is packed with benefits; it boosts collagen production and retains moisture. It can be used by, and help, all skin types, especially dry, damaged, and aging skin.

WHAT IS A SOFT LIFT?

A Soft Lift, also known as a liquid face lift, is a custom treatment plan that combines the smoothing effect of Botox with Juvederm facial fillers for a full facial rejuvenation treatment. Your injector will assess three areas of your face (upper, mid and lower) and put together a unique Soft Lift program just for you. The results will address your areas of concern, giving you an overall refreshed look with virtually no downtime. This procedure typically takes less than an hour.
